Duration: 12 months Location: Rockville, Maryland ** *Summary * The business / data analyst is a client facing role with primary responsibilities for performing data analysis, gathering system configuration requirements and providing implementation services. This work involves being an intermediary between end client and our internal technical support staff. This contract position will focus on the migration of gift and entertainment data from version 1.10 to version 1.12 of the software for each client. The gifts and entertainment data records will be mapped by the business/data analyst from the old structure of the data tables to the new structure of the data tables for client verification. The technical analyst will perform the data migration using the data mapping approved by the client. Software configurations will also need to be completed by the business/data analyst to ensure the testing system is ready for client user acceptance testing. The same process will be repeated when upgrading each client’s production system. *Objectives* · Learn the Gifts & Entertainment functionality, system configuration options and data migration process and requirements. · Work with clients to execute the data migration project plan. · Perform data analysis, data mapping, system configuration and testing tasks. · Complete the system upgrades on the schedule mutually agreed upon between and its clients. · Train clients on the new functionality and how to perform data validation. · Write the documentation needed for each client to perform user acceptance testing, validate data migration and accept the upgraded systems in the test and production environments. · Schedule and coordinate tasks with Manager of Implementations and Support and technical support staff. · Complete the data migration projects for up to 14 client test/production systems. *Core Responsibilities* · Identify client-defined configuration requirements. · Produce documentation that defines software configuration requirements, data mapping and test plans. · Define and execute data migration project plans. · Train clients on new Gifts & Entertainment functionality and software configuration. · Assist clients with user acceptance testing, problem resolution and data migration acceptance. · Report the status of all client data migration projects to StarCompliance’s Manager of Implementations and Support on a weekly basis. · Travel to client locations on an as-needed basis. · Work on Friday evenings, Saturdays (and possibly Sundays if required) to assist the StarCompliance support team with production system upgrades and data migrations. *Skills & Experience* · Strong interpersonal skills working with software end users and technical staff · Excellent written and verbal skills needed to produce documentation, update status reports and manage issues lists. · Excellent attention to detail and an ability to follow process-driven methodologies · Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server or relational databases a plus. · Experience completing data migration projects strongly desired. · Experience defining, implementing or supporting software in financial services industry preferred *Minimum Qualifications* · Minimum 2 -5 years as a business analyst in the information technology industry. · Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science or a related degree · Project management experience * * *Must pass a mandatory background check* · Must not have a filed for bankruptcy in past 7 years · Must not have any felony convictions · Background check will include education, employment, credit, and criminal In order to apply for same, send me your updated resume along with 3 professional references and let me know the best time to reach you.
