*ROLE*
The *Network Engineer *will provide technical support for the networking
infrastructure. The N*etwork*
*Engineer *is responsible for administration and management of network
components, which play a
comprehensive role in implementing the company’s network and intranet
systems while monitoring the
network infrastructure to ensure it is functioning as designed and
expected. The position involves complex
configuration, maintenance and repair work of all network components. The
engineer must resolve and
troubleshoot any malfunctions involved with the network(s) or network
components. The Engineer will play
a key role in all network support and related operations.

*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES*
1. Consult with clients (both internal and external) to evaluate
requirements, recommend designs,
provide cost analyses, project plans, and coordinate tasks for installation
of data networks.
2. Monitors and analyzes network performance, ensuring the network is
performing optimally.
3. Analyze and resolve technical problems for established networks in a
timely manner.
4. Provide network documentation, training, and guidance to computing
system clients.
5. Serve as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies.
6. Conduct technical research on network upgrades and components to
determine feasibility, cost,
time required, and compatibility with current system.
7. Recommend network solutions for short-, medium-, and long-range network
projects.
8. Install, configure and maintain network components in both a data center
and office environment.
9. Establish and maintain security for networks being installed and
existing infrastructures.
10. Maintain network security policies and provision network access for end
users.
11. Work directly with other technical departments in the investigation of
reported issues and / or
projects with concentration on connectivity and compatibility between
systems.
12. Work with vendors to resolve complex network problems.
13. Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
14. Participate in on-call rotation
15. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to
needs of the systems
being supported.

*KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS*



*Good Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies.*

*·** Ability to learn and support new network components.*

*·** Experience with Cisco systems IOS standards and hardware
specifications.*

*·** Knowledge of IPSEC VPN for remote access and site to site
connectivity.*

*·** Understanding of dynamic routing protocols, i.e. EIGRP, OSFP and BGP.*

*·** Good technical understanding of Microsoft Windows workstation and
server operating systems.*

*·** Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware
and/or software solutions.*

*·** Ability to develop systems solutions for operational problems.*

*·** Ability to work within time-constrained periods.*

*·** Ability to coordinate with other professionals as and when needed.*

*·** Ability to develop and write systems and applications documentation
and guides for users.*

*·** Ability to manage and execute tasks in a timely manner.*

*·** Ability to prepare written and oral reports effectively.*
