*Position: Jr. Systems Engineer* *Location: Atlanta GA or Franklin TN*
*Duration: 12+ months* *Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or information technology* *Start: ASAP* ROLE The Systems Engineer is responsible for evaluating the current systems and working with the various teams to implement global technologies as it relates to the stability, monitoring and metrics collection across all areas of departmental responsibilities. Individual must be a self-starter who can lead projects and solve complex issues from start to finish with little supervision. Designs, develops and implements documentation or tools to facilitate the Data Center team responsibilities. Mentor team members on the technical aspects of processes and procedures necessary to build common practices and solutions across our global IT environment. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (Minimum Requirements)* · Target Operating systems: Windows operating systems 2003 and greater, ESXi, Zen and Hyper, Linux (Redhat/Centos) · Experience with large vSphere virtual infrastructure environments · Experience with DRS, storage vMotion, SRM and other facets of virtual infrastructure · Should be familiar with HA configurations, security and patch management, and Active Directory administration. · Knowledge of remote management of global assets · Strong scripting experience to produce solutions and perform troubleshooting · Installation, configuration and administration experience with operations management tools – Global monitoring solutions · Conversant in mass storage systems and their ability to meet application needs · NAS and SAN storage for large enterprises (FC, NFS, CIFS) · Understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, including requirements gathering, design, impact analysis, implementation, testing, deployment, remediation and operation · Experience administering/maintaining a production environment. Candidate must be able to rapidly deconstruct systems having minimal supporting documentation, then speak to performance capabilities/bottlenecks, break points requiring monitoring, and other issues. · Strong, methodical troubleshooting skills · Very strong analytical skills. Candidate will frequently be required to analyze and predict performance capabilities of a given system. Requires a great degree of resourcefulness for uncovering disparate performance data points and correlating them. · Ability to maintain own workflow, prioritizes with respect to departmental or organizational priorities, and complete work with minimal supervision. Requires strong organizational habits and time management. · Ability to respond and prioritize frequent demands of multiple customers (internal and external) · Ability to respond to frequent pressure to meet deadlines when work speed and sustained accuracy are paramount · Ability to mentor junior staff on technical areas and work well in a team environment · Ability to provide off-hours operational support · Follows IT industry trends and developments. Will be leaned on for new ideas on process and product recommendations. · Strong communication (both verbal and written) and customer service skills. Ability to exchange information with technical and non-technical individuals in a clear and concise manner *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* 1. Research, design, develop and implement solutions for fault tolerance, performance, capacity, and configuration management of datacenter standardization in a global market. 3. Identifying production stability concerns via break point and impact analysis 4. Designing, developing and implementing remediation plans to address DC functionality. 5. Designing, developing and implementing documentation or tools to facilitate Technical Support team responsibilities. 6. Mentoring Engineering teams on technical aspects of supporting infrastructure. 7. Identifying opportunities for automation of sustainment activities. 8. Finding synergies within a production environment with the goal of reduction in maintenance activity and cost reduction. 6.
