I just downloaded a new copy, and upgraded to tar 1.13.25 and gzip 1.3.2.
When I attempt to gunzip, I get crc and length errors. If you could, would
you send me that tarball minus the gz compression to test?

Also, I have:
GNU aclocal 1.5
GNU autoconf 2.52
GNU automake 1.5
