Hello Alex (and others),
I have tried the Savage kernel driver,
unfortunately it doesn't work quite as anthicipated. The
problem is that the screen looks 'scrambled'
vertically, there are half lines, half black. Every
now and then some
horizontal blinks happen. The cursor in X looks like a big black
block,
though it is also fractured with white
lines.
The problem I suspect is in my video card, as the
Savage driver for BeOS suffers exactly
the same problem. The Diamond Speedstar A90 is a
card with the Savage4 chip, but it
doesn't work on both OS'es thus I think (ad Diamond
and S3 are one company) that the
Speedstar is a somewhat modified card. Do you have
any clues yet on how to solve this,
is there any output you need? Or would it be better
to beg at Diamond (now sonicblue) for
the specs?
