My mistake, I was using 2.4.17, which has no tridentfb. I just downloaded 2.4.19. Indeed, the latest 2.4.x kernel has trident frame buffer support. I'll look a bit more into what changes VIA has made from the original XFree86 driver. I assume it is only related to the TV encoder, i.e. graphics display should work out of the box. (I'll need the hardware to verify, of course.) Could you tell me more about "tackling a DirectFB driver" from there? Is there some documented steps for writing a DirectFB driver from a kernel fb driver? Guilhem. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
