I guess I am even more of a noob than you as I only just found the DirectFB project a few days ago, and have only just managed to download it.

My problem only occurs when I include framebuffer support in the kernel. And only happens when switching from XFree86 to a framebuffered console. When I try to switch back to XFree86 I get a garbaged display. I am not using any fb drivers for XFree86, only the closed source nVidia drivers. I also have no idea of how to disable a console from using the framebuffer. Is it even possible? Can I have different consoles using dirrerent resolution framebuffers? Do I need DirectFB for XFree86 to use a fb driver?

btw.. Does anybody have the list digests in maildir format?

Regards,
Karl Bowden

So when your switching between X and console, its a regular console, not a framebuffered one?

Is it possible to run a FrameBuffer inside a user-mode-linux kernel for testing and development purposes?

Because my machine hangs when I have fb drivers in my kernel and also use the nvidia drivers for X and switch from console to X more then once.
