Oh, no, not anything like that at all. This a true distortion, not just an aspect ratio problem. The left "border" of the display has a "wow" (an inward "dent" near the top) in it. Probably the best thing to do is see a picture of it. First, for reference, a picture of Mplayer -vo dfbmga properly filling the viewble area of the television: http://brian.interlinx.bc.ca/Mplayer.jpeg And now my GTK based program selection application: http://brian.interlinx.bc.ca/OSD.jpeg There are several things to notice here. First is on the left, see how the picture is "wowed" inwards in the top left? Also it seems as if the right hand side of the display is wrapping around to the left where the "wow" is. As well, notice that the first line of the list (the one highlighted) is off the top of the screen. These are all artifacts that I was getting when I was using fbset and matrox set to set the timings the display, before your CRTC2 changes to DirectFB. For some reason, it seems, the same display mode is not being used with GTK+-DirectFB as is being used with Mplayer -vo dfbmga. Any ideas why? b. -- Brian J. Murrell
