Yes. I was just looking for a few "it works" comments. The linecomp register affects the address generator so if it's programmed incorrectly you get a split screen. I didn't have it on my older Redhat 7.1 installation but apparently Gentoo wanted to install everything XFree86 related with XDirectFB.
