Did you start modifying the driver, or are you just trying to use it?

Yeah, it works fine for me -- but I don't use the TV output at all. The only
thing I noticed so far is that there's no wait-for-vsync support, so the
directfb examples run much too fast and/or flickery.

A modprobe for viafb does the trick for me. The fbcons are not used if I look
at my module list.
