I'm involved in debian development and i'm actually working on the gtk
frontend for the debian-installer (the plans for post-sarge relase are
to implement a graphic installation system based on gtk).
Actually the gtk frontend module seems to work on a "X bench-test" (go
to http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2005/05/msg00242.html to see the
last news).
The directframebuffer gdk layer would be better for the debian installer but at the moment it crashes too much (gives serious memory corruption problems).
The tests where made with the 2.0.9-2 precompiled gtk found on dfb web site; i've also tried to compile many different gdk from dfb cvs with the 2.6.7 gtk but i could never pass thru the make stage.
Could someone please tell me where to find, if any, some precompiled more recent libgtk-directfb libgdk_pixbuf libgdk-directfb to do some testing?
