Currently you can find out what signals and connectors you support for an
output however there is no indication of output resolution / input
resolution that you support.
This is a problem when you look at next generation video spec like HD where
there are 20 or so video output formats and we need to be able to indicate
to users of the API what input/output resolutions are support.
I want to add this support to ScreenOutputDescription etc so that a
ScreenOutput will now indicate what Input/Output resolution and what
connectors/signals it supports
We also need to add support for SCANMODE to the output as the Output API of
DirectFB controls a different piece of our hardware to the encoder API. And
both pieces of hardware need to know what scan mode is.
What do people think of these changes.
If opinion is good I will make them and feed them back at some time.
