Yes, but it can be very tricky -- I don't think many people use it. For 
example, I can't get the default version to work at all on my SAA7134 chip. I 
found this is because the DirectFB V4L videoprovider uses V4L2_MEMORY_OVERLAY 
to capture from the card (rather than MMAP or USERPTR), which just doesn't 
seem to work. I couldn't even find any references to OVERLAY anywhere, 
perhaps the author looked at kernel sources. Could be this works fine on 
other cards.

I got around it by forcing MMAP mode all the time. Try dfbsee -z /dev/video0, 
which does the same thing.

Different problem.. I have no idea. What card do you have anyway? A USB 
camera?
