First I'd look at the bug reports in gnome.
the reparent one is probably the root of a lot of bugs.
It may be the cause of the mysterious drawing issues on 8 bit surfaces
with the builtin wm
since that calls reparent on a top level window.

Mouse Grabs seem broken but this is tangled with the WindowManager I'm
working on that.

In general run through all the test cases and see what turns up.

Finally we need to start valgrind soon but I think there are enough
bugs out that we must fix
some of those first.
There are some simple but time consuming ones like parsing commandline args.
