I have used DFB/GTK+ 2.9 with cairo (and pango, ...) in an embedded device
(a MIPS processor) and it was fast. Of course, it's better if your device
has some kind of hardware graphics acceleration (this is common with IPTV
Set-Top-Boxes and the like).
