This is probably not the best forum for questions on the specifics of the
STLinux DirectFB port, almost nobody will know what you are talking about :-)
You would be better asking such hardware specific questions using STLinux
bugzilla.

However, in answer to your question, the only DirectFB layer supported by the
STLinux port is the primary layer on the framebuffer. The framebuffer is on a
specific hardware plane, although this can be changed in the framebuffer
driver.

If you have more questions on the specifics then please feel free to post
something in the STLinux bugzilla.

Subject: [directfb-dev] DirectFB vs Stb7109 with stlinux

  Hi!
I am using the mb442revC moard with stb7109 chip. This platform have STLinux
and i am using a stmfb-stb7100.ko driver for DirectFB. Could I change the
layer of my output video with DirectFB function? I read into a post of October
2006 that stgfb for stb7100 supports only a layer... :( Thanks for your help
Bye! Wolf
