ok, im running debian testing.. I grabed libdirectfb-0.9-13 and libdirectfb-0.9-13-dev from unstable...
First of all I really wish someone would make a gtk+-directfb package for debian, along with a directfb-engine-0.3 package, this would proably solve my problem, alas no one has and I dont think I could pull it off.. Secondly, I want to use DirectFB mainly for the pixmap engine compatability... My favorite GTK+ theme (AquaX) leaks mad memory when I use a GTK app with tabs and switch between em.. (like xchat) Everyplace ive read blames it on the crappy pixmap engine, since directfb has the only alternative I have found, and promices to be faster than the current pixmap engine its all I really want working at the moment.. anywase, I grabed everything I needed from unstable to compile gtk+-directfb and the directfb-engine... I couldent get the patch working on the debian gtk source so I grabed gtk+-directfb-2.0.6 from the website, it compiled and installed without a hitch... when I tried my theme again I got errors about pixmap.so not found in moudles_path or something simular, so I installed the gtk-engine-pixmap package again and this time removed there pixmap.so and linked it with the directfb-engine's pixmap.so hoping this would work... Now when I try to use the theme I get this error: Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib/gtk/themes/engines/libpixmap.so: undefined symbol: gdk_region_rectangle I thought about removing gtk1.2 and installing the 1.3 version on the downloads page but so many debian packages I have installed rely on it (eg, mozilla) Anyone able to help me to get this working? __________________________________________________________ Outgrown your current e-mail service?
