I had to reset my system and couldn't see any messages. It may very well be that the video memory is full since I only have 16mb, run 1280x1024-16 and I'm using 6 virtual desktops. 1 mb of the video ram was already reserved for xmga (didn't help btw. still errors probably due to the fact that it needs more) and if XDirectFB keeps every desktop in memory at once it's a bit tough.
