I would suggest to check for $DISPLAY since it's highly unlikely that someone 
running XDirectFB wants this behaviour. For that unlikely case you could 
change the noinput option to input to be specified if for whatever reason 
someone has $DISPLAY set and does not run X or wants to control MPlayer by 
keaboard while watching something else on the monitor which does not require 
keyboard input. That way you could control MPlayer without switching windows.
