no. it IS X (actually, XFree86 with some Darwin code and more), but not
with a generic display driver backend, but with a DirectFB backend - so,
all graphic operations are done via DirectFB.

most applications should work out of the box without any configuration
at all (thinks like graphics output and input are configured in
DirectFB, so no special X configuration for that needed), the
applications that won't work use X extensions which are currently not
supported - but that shouldn't be a lot!

basically, theres no difference, because it IS XFree86 ;) have a look at
the output of xwininfo to see a list of supported extensions etc ...
