AFAIK the WSS signals occur during the horizontal blanking period 
(someone correct me if I'm wrong) so with the current setup they would 
have to encoded in the TV-encoder. There are no specs for the TV-encoder 
:(

I once pondered about configuring CRTC2 so that there would be no 
blanking periods and instead set up the data in the memory to include 
the timing codes and whatnot. If the hardware would work with that kind 
of setup (of which I'm not so sure) you would have total control over 
the contents of the digital blanking periods. However even that would 
not guarantee anything because the TV-encoder might just ignore the 
data. But it might be an interesting thing to try nonetheless.
