To OP: did you try the linux-viafb from DirectFB cvs? I could only get a
garbled screen with that, compiling with gcc 4.0.1 and kernel 2.6.14.x.
Compiling with gcc 3.2 and kernel 2.6.11.12 did the trick. I'll have to do
some more recompile cycles to narrow down where it goes wrong.
