OK, so you're in France. Maybe having a SECAM TV makes a difference?
NB, I've just remembered that we have a 100Hz TV at home, so the
any perceptual flicker from the interlacing on a static image is much
reduced. Perhaps that's the reason? I'll try turning it off next time
I use freevo & see how obnoxious the interlacing is.
