The first four of those certainly don't apply to the CLE266 hardware so perhaps all we need is for a CN400 user to take on the task of adding support for the CN400 (without breaking support for older hardware). I haven't seen the last problem you mention but I certainly haven't tried that option recently. I think DirectFB used to have a very old viafb included. More recently we took the one that everyone had been using, tidied it up, fixed some of its problems and improved its support for high quality TV output, including supporting interlaced output properly. It's certainly not abandoned -- I've contributed a fair amount to it over the last year or so. However, I only use CLE266-based hardware so I'm not in a position to add support for the newer chipsets.
