Hi, I successfully compiled Cairo and pixmap from their git repositories one month and a half ago (12/02/08 to be exactly). If the repositories haven't changed much, there shouldn't be any problem.
Since I downloaded glib from its git rep too, the procedure for compiling GTK over DFB using packages from git reps is somewhat experimental (although it's similar to the one documented in the DirectFB wiki).
