Hi Alexander,
some cards are detected automatically,
but that is not the case for Unichrome - you have to specify it manually
in your config or command line. Something like accelerator=77, I believe.
vesafb works on all vesa-compatible graphics cards, e.g. viafb offers
additional ioctl's that support card specific features like on-the-fly
resolution switching - but it doesn't have in-build acceleration! that's
what the DirectFB gfx-drivers do.
