Make check failing the same way.


But I found the problem.     /dev/shm had the wrong permissions on it.

The filesystem image I picked up for this Fedora distribution is
*wonky*.   For example, 'ping' wasn't
  setuid root, so it wasn't working, etc.  Weird stuff.
