Hi Fred,
I don't think we did a joint application last year - we each did a
separate one. A joint application seemed to work well for the FOSDEM
devroom (even though none of us could make it in the end), so I'd be
happy to do the same for the Summer of Code.
Maybe we could make a joint application for GNUstep, Étoilé, and
opengroupware.org? A lot of the projects that were accepted last year
were joint applications (e.g. GNU, GNOME, KDE), so it might improve
our chances. Maybe GAP would like to be involved in a joint
application as well?

David,
shouldn't we again head for a shared application for Etoile and
GNUstep?
It didn't work that well last year, but surely better than two
seperate
applications.

It's almost time for the Google Summer of Code mentoring organisation
application phase. This begins on March 9, with the final deadline
on
the 13th. We applied last year, but didn't get accepted. Hopefully
we'll have better luck this time.
We've had some good press coverage recently, but one thing that we
really need is to update the proposed project pages. Jesse's
create a
nice template, but the existing projects are not very well-explained
and don't include any difficulty rating or expected time to complete,
and a few are obsolete.
I'll try to spend a little time improving this, but anyone else who
has time please take a look at it and see if you can improve it.
