You probably need to rerun configure. I added some qualifiers in various places to allow code using ARC to use the GNUstep headers. In preface.h, there is some code that checks if you are using ARC and #defines these qualifiers away if you are not, but preface.h seems not to be automatically regenerated by make when preface.h.in changes.
