I would go farther and say a complete rebranding is in order. For the vast majority of people, OpenStep no longer has meaning, making the current naming of GNUstep a bit cumbersome to explain. My suggestion for this, assuming renaming the whole project isn't possible, is to turn it from a noun into a verb. Here's an attempt at a catch phrase: Step outside the walled garden. I think something like that can most succulently express what GNUstep can accomplish. You wouldn't even have to change the logo, which can be said to evoke the idea of going up over a wall. From that seed, yes, you can absolutely branch out to all the ways that GNUstep can benefit developers and users who want to remain independent of Apple (for whatever reason). -- iPhone apps that matter: http://appstore.subsume.com/ My personal UDP list: 127.0.0.1, localhost, googlegroups.com, theremailer.net, and probably your server, too. _______________________________________________ Discuss-gnustep mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss-gnustep
