Hi Tom, GSDE should be considered as highly experimental. I created it to showcase the power of GNUstep, test various concepts (e.g. script-ability) and inspire others. It is NOT intended for mass audience as it has many limitations drawbacks (e.g. it will never support Wayland or HiDPI)
NextSpace has clean architecture and well maintained code base.
