Hello Martin,
The root servers do not serve the com/net/org or other gTLD zones.
Only the a.root does this. NSI has their own gtld-servers.net servers
which carry the com/net/org/edu/etc zones.
You can get a list of them by doing:
dig @a.root-servers.net com ns
