I timed this a while back... Using OpenSRS I was able to complete a
registrant name change in 30 seconds (for free).

Also, our registrar transfers from NSI to OpenSRS average about 3 business
days (from us submitting the initial request to OpenSRS to the NSI
Registry showing TUCOWS as the registrar of record).
