whois takes 24-48 hours to typically show up.
Also - since NSI's whois does recursive lookups (and we can't block
abusive or data-mining activities originating from their whois systems) we
block their systems.
If someone wants information of a domain name registered via XXX
Registrar, they should query XXX Registrar's whois server.
Some registrars do recursive whois - but it's not required (and mostly a
pain).
