The costs are the same to be an ICANN accredited registrar no matter where
you are in the world (it is all based on US dollars). You would need to
sell a heck of a lot of domain names to make back the license fees you are
paying to ICANN and Network Solutions.
The one point that the "OpenSRS needs to lower their fees because we
cannot complete with a low-ball ICANN accredited registrar" seem to forget
is just that. You should never expect to be able to compete with a
low-ball ICANN accredited registrar without becoming ICANN accredited yourself.
