This is typically caused by you connecting to the incorrect port when
using the new scripts.
Old scripts use port 50000 and port 51000 (server/lookups respectively).
New scripts use port 55000 for everything.
If the verify_install does not get the expected XML greeting from the
server side, that is the error message you'd get :)
