Hmmm.... this is just another way for NSI to beef up their
auctions.... many people do not read the fine print, will
get the free 90 day and not renew.
At that point NSI - according to their published terms -
puts that domain name on auction. They will not let it
expire! (in 30 days as the norm used to be).
So this way NSI either forces you to pay them the $30
or auctions that name off! NSI currently holds thousands
of great domains that expired months ago and it looks
like they will secure a permission from ICANN to auction
them off to the highest bidder UNLESS WE ALL DO SOMETHING
ABOUT IT.
ICANN can prevent NSI from doing this if there is a substantial
opposition to this from the rest of us - Registrars.
How about joining us in an effort to combat NSI on this issue????
Anyone interested to join in- if we get enough interest, we shall
create a site to sent through protest letters directly to ICANN
and empower all of resellers to help put stop to NSI sitting on domains
that could have been re-registered to new owners, moreover preventing
NSI from auctioning those domains.
