Character not recognized

When someone tries to register a domain and puts on the Street Address field
the character � it is not recognized and gives a error message.
This is a particularly useful character as it is used a lot in portuguese
language in the Address field.

While in english you shorten, for example, "Seventh" to 7th we shorten it to
7�.

Is there any way to fix this?

This happens in the new version of the client: 2.2
