I would really appreciate some help with this one. I am trying to
find out what I need to do to complete a registration request I
received from a town in Saskatchewan. They wish to register a .ca
domain name, but the request was denied by CIRA because it is a
reserved name for that municipality. For example, toronto.ca is
reserved so that anyone may not register it (but I assume that the
City of Toronto sould be able to regsiter it) The town can provide
whatever documentation is required to process the registration.
My problem is that no one seems to know how to do this. I phoned
CIRA....got the general support desk, who said he didn't know, but
I should be able to find out at tucows.
I wrote support at opensrs, but got this answer:
"There is no procedure to register town names. It never occured to
them that people would actually need it... I'm sure they'll get
around to it someday..."
So, I'm still scratching my head wondering is there SOMEONE who can
tell me how to get this domain registered?
