Hmmm... maybe like in the case of .com previously?

I think ICANN was in a terrible situation. It is just like the DVD standard:
when the CD standard was made, the guys (I guess maybe SONY?) got rich,
because they did it first. Because of this, the DVD standard was delayed for
years: companies kept fighting each-other so that they are not left out of
the standardisation but their competitors are. We - the public - watched and
sucked. It was not about ideas: it was about money, and the world was kept
waiting. Now the TLDs: interests groups throw mud at each-other, accusing
everyone, the government, registars, big companies, small companies, ICANN
itself... everyone. We have a story for in Hungary:
- The old cow (yes!!) of the farmer dies, so the farmer is very said.
Suddenly, an angel appears and says: "You are a good, faithful man, and now
I see you are in trouble. I let one of your wishes come true." The farmer
thinks it over and says: "Let my neighbour's cow die, too."
So, we often say here: let the neighbour's cow die. And now many say: if we
cannot have new TLDs, noone should.

This board was working hard for years to have new TLDs. When a new party
comes (politics or ICANN, all the same) it tends to change everything just
to prove who's got the power. Someone HAS TO start the process!

And the sky is blue. Tell me about it! I am from an ex-communist country :-)
They say here "The worst thing about bribery: when you are left out." (We
have exchanged our ethics for a couple of Russian tanks forty-some years
ago...)

It is what the world is all about. It is a pathetic life.

Uhm... I am getting off-topic again... sorry about that.

ui: It was a good part when they recounted the votes at the ICANN
boardmeeting for gTLD '.iii' :-) Someone mentioned recounting was a
disease... :-))) At least they have a sense of humour.
