Making .tv available to people outside of Tuvalu has made it possible for
many  people to register names in the .tv category that wouldn't have been
able to otherwise.  This expands the possible choices of domain names for
the general public.  As for opening it up completely, i concur.

 Actually, what i think you are saying is that it's worthless to you and
maybe even the majority of people you can think of.  Perhaps it's not
worthless to hundreds of thousands of independent filmakers, artists,
musicians, etc, who may want to set up their own alternative television
stations.  Pirate radio, pirate TV.  And there's organizations in the tens
of thousands, like Greenpeace, Free Speech Tv, and whack of others who might
integrate an adjacent website that links from their main .org page that has
just video streaming related to their cause.  Greenpeace.TV
For you this is all vaporware.  Fine.  For me it's mindware or software.
