I'd be willing to bet somewhere, in some boardroom or in some office
lies a memo that is a smoking gun, much like the tobacco industry.

Probably, they have overwritten the memo 45 times, alternating ones and zeroes :p
Ahhhh, the electronic age.

Too bad.

I'm telling you, they know exactly how much revenues would be off if they
initiated such a *radical* business practice. Somewhere, someone is being
reprimanded for this problem and are being told to take care of it right
away *wink, wink, nudge, nudge, eh, knowwhutImean, eh, wink, nudge, etc.*

Probably they read this list.

Are your ears burning? :-p

Toodles,

Subject: FW: Postal Fraud investigation against NSI?

If, as Duane implies, they truly wish to get to the bottom of this, wouldn't
the appropriate solution be to stop sending out invoices to clients that are
no longer theirs? I don't know about all of you, but the business logic is
remarkably simple. If the customer is still my customer, send them a bill.
If not, do nothing.

I'm not questioning their intent or motivation, but it still surprises me
that a world-class company like Verisign can have such significant problems
with such a fundamental part of their business operations like billing.
