Couple of things...
a) the distributed model is currently borken, but that doesn't necessarily
mean that a centralized model is necessarily better. Let's try and fix the
distributed model.
b) anything that puts monopoly power back into NSI's hands is not a good
thing
and lastly, Marilyn Cade had the right idea with her comments, but the
current .com, .net and .org registry whois database is $10,000 per year
multiplied by the number of active registrars - not just $10,000 as she
states...
