When we submit a transfer request (as a Registrar) to the Registry, we are
charged a transaction fee and the Registry appends a year to the lifespan of
the domain. That is all a Registrar-Transfer is capable of doing. You CAN,
if you desire, charge for as many years as you wish and then AFTER the
transfer is complete you may append the number of years (as a renewal) as
you need...

Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to
time that nothing worth knowing can be taught.
