Updating Code

Hi all,

Does anyone know exactly which files need to be replaced to upgrade to the
new code? It seems redundent for me to replace the whole code and have to
redo all the template files every time there is an upgrade.

I am looking to update from 2.2 to 2.23

Any insight would be appreciated,
