Read the fine print. They really are not pre-registering
anything. Network Solutions is just attempting to get a list of potential
customers via an opt-in spam list. If and when the new extensions become
available, Network Solutions will send an e-mail stating how one should go
about registering them. Once again, they are not pre-registering names.
You should inform your client that these extensions haven't even been
approved yet. The U.S. DoC must approve the new extensions before anyone
can do anything with them.
The United States Federal Trade Commission and ICANN have both issued
warnings about organizations promoting pre-registration services. Please
