Since ICANN mandates that the whois database be made available for sale, I
don't see anything special here.  It can help assist with "domain hijacking"
by scanning the zone files and warning the user when there is a change,
which otherwise may go unnoticed for a few days (IE, if the user in question
uses nameservers that are authoritive for their own domain)

The "partnership" with OpenSRS could be as simple as SnapNames using OpenSRS
to register the domains as they become available.  Maybe it's just me, but
I'm not seeing anything malicious here.
