NSI made this change to its terms of service for business account
holders quite a long time ago, back when it switched to prepayment
requirements. Business account holders got to let their users be
billed for the domain registration after registration in exchange for
their guarantee for the payment of the registration fees.
This was made clear in the agreements, and was announced by NSI quite
publicly at the time. There was quite a debate about it on their
public mailing list, as well.
I recommended then that no ISP signup as a business account as a
result.
Unfortunately for those who didn't take the time to read what they
were entering into, it's time for them to pay the piper.
