Hi guys,

I found out something again :)

We have the following pair of nameservers:

If you "really" resolve them, you get

ns.mynewdomain.de 123.456.00.12
ns.myolddomain.de 123.456.00.12

ns2.mynewdomain.de 123.456.99.56
ns2.myolddomain.de 123.456.99.56

So, the ns and ns2 are the same. However, registered via InterNIC is:

   Server Name: NS.MYNEWDOMAIN.DE
   IP Address: 123.45.00.12
Registrar: CORE INTERNET COUNCIL OF REGISTRARS
   Whois Server: whois.corenic.net
   Referral URL: www.corenic.net

   Server Name: NS.MYOLDDOMAIN.DE
IP Address: 123.456.99.56 (< WHICH IS NOT CORRECT!)
   Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
   Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
   Referral URL: www.networksolutions.com

   Server Name: NS2.MYNEWDOMAIN.DE
   Registrar: TUCOWS.COM, INC.
   Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net
   Referral URL: www.opensrs.org

   Server Name: NS2.MYOLDDOMAIN.DE
   Registrar: GANDI
   Whois Server: whois.gandi.net
   Referral URL: www.gandi.net

So, the problem is: NS.MYOLDDOMAIN.DE has the IP of the NS2 server...
When I register CNO domains, I can enter NS.MYNEWDOMAIN.DE and
NS.MYOLDDOMAIN.DE. This does not look so good :) , but it points to
two different nameservers.

However, with UK domains, this doesn't work. He really tries to
resolve them, so I get the same name server all the time...

Any thoughts? :-)

Thanks,
    Florian
