No, they are two identical machines sitting right next to each other,
hooked to the same hub. The only difference between the two is the IP
address assigned in the startup script.  Same hardware, same OS, same
named setup.

Look, this discussion has become pointless and worse, nothing to do with
this list.  Let's just leave at perhaps neither one of us really knows
what the whole story is.
